Original 12x16 painting from my "Hope Remains" series.
 
This piece was inspired by my grief. After losing my dad and my soul cat in the same year - I have changed as a person. The change in me was very negative at the beginning, but now that some time has passed I feel I've become more resilient, more in the moment. I now see myself as the heron. Weathering the storm of grief and coming out stronger because of it.
 
This piece features a great blue heron standing in a lake. The environment around them is filled with turmoil and darkness but they are standing strong. The frame is handpainted and shows of a glorious glossy sheen.
 
This painting is a one of one. Acrylic paint on stretched canvas. Sealed with multiple layers of gloss varnish.
